Chitrita Banerji

Chitrita Banerji is a Bengali-American writer who examines the relationships between memory, history, culture, religion, and food in her works. She is the author of several books on Indian food and culture, the latest being Eating India: An Odyssey into the Food and Culture of the Land of Spices. Time Out, London, listed it among the best new food books of 2008. Her work has been included in Best American Travel Writing 2006. Her other work include Mirror City, a novel, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu which is her first biography. She is a member of the board of the Culinary Historians of Boston. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
