Stuart MacBride has signed a three book deal with Pan Macmillan, with the first book a brand new Logan McRae novel to tie in with the twentieth anniversary of the first book in the series, in 2025.

MacBride has sold 6.5 million copies of his novels worldwide to date and is published in twenty-two languages. The as yet untitled new book in the series sees Detective Inspector Logan McRae kicking off a major murder investigation with a skeleton staff of misfits, idiots and malingerers as things are about to get very dark in the sweltering heat of an Aberdeen summer.

I've been a huge fan of Stuart and the Logan series for years, and so to publish him at Pan Macmillan for the twentieth anniversary is a dream for an editor. The team are so excited to work with him to build the Stuart MacBride brand for the future.
Francesca Pathak, Pan Fiction Publisher
When I decided to find a new home for the first Logan book in half a decade, there was a tough choice to be made. I spoke to a lot of excellent publishers, who I know would’ve done a great job, but in the end I couldn’t resist the lure of Francesca and the team – especially after a glowing recommendation from one of her star authors, Peter James. I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of horrible things we can achieve together!

It’s not going well for Aberdeen's NE Division: half the force is off sick, all leave has been cancelled, someone has firebombed a hotel full of migrants and there’s a massive protest march happening this Saturday. With officers dropping like flies, Detective Inspector Logan McRae has to kick off a major murder investigation with a skeleton staff of misfits, idiots and malingerers until the top brass can arrange back-up from other divisions. But, as bad as everything seems, things are about to get much, much worse.
