Hugo Young
Hugo Young was, for many years, one of the UK's most important political journalists. Beginning his career as leader writer on The Sunday Times in 1965, he rose to become deputy editor in 1981 and for many years wrote the influential political column, Sunday. He left after the paper was bought by Rupert Murdoch, and became a lead political commentator for the Guardian until his death in 2003. He is the author of several political biographies, including This Blessed Plot: Britain and Europe from Churchill to Blair and One of Us: Life of Margaret Thatcher.
